To mark 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, Status M wants to present male allies who will discuss how men can participate in stopping gender-based violence.
Gender-based violence is a serious social problem and we believe it is important to involve men to be part of the solution. We know that the social norms of masculinity, gender norms imposed on men, often contribute to gender-based violence. During our campaign, we want to set an example of how men can be allies, encourage and invite other men to get involved in the fight against gender-based violence. Our goal is to encourage conversation and present our participants as role models.
In 16 days (November 25-December 10) we will explain who male allies are, why it is important for a man to be involved in the fight against gender-based violence and how men can contribute to that fight. We will also introduce male allies who will say how they contribute to the fight against gender-based violence.
