December 6th – National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is held every year on December 6, in commemoration of the 14 women murdered at L’École Polytechnique in Montreal on Dec. 6, 1989. Remembering this horrific event has become the basis of recognizing and supporting action against widespread violence committed against women in our society.

Dr. Elizabeth Cannon, President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Calgary Marcela Coelho Lopes, Vice-President External, Graduate Students’ Association Sagar Grewal, President, Students’ Union Admission is free and open to the public.
