“Let Our Voice Run”, a special virtual run and awareness campaign co-organised by Footsteps To Inspire and Lutheran Community Care Services (LCCS). Footsteps to Inspire is founded by Claire McFarlane, a rape survivor who uses sport to peacefully end sexual violence. A partner of the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP), LCCS’ aim is to heal the hurts and transform hurting lives and situations by creating new experiences through restorative conversations.
In honour of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Let Our Voice Run hopes to bring together individuals who are concerned and/or affected by violence to raise awareness on violence through a relational approach, with a special focus on sexual violence.
Let Our Voice Run comprises of a week of activities from 30 November to 6 December 2020 where survivors and concerned parties can share their experiences in safe spaces, followed by a webinar for discussion on healing for child sexual violence, and ending in a Virtual Run on 6 December.
We believe that Let Our Voice Run campaign is the first campaign in Singapore that seeks to build a community around the issue of violence through a shared concern of the need to end violence.
Everyone is welcome to join!
Awareness activities are free of charge. All funds raised from race entries and t-shirts for the virtual run will go towards restorative programs helping survivors of violence in Singapore.
