This free, full-day event is designed to build connections between local service providers, researchers, and the interested public Hosted by the Gender Research Network at the University of Newcastle as part of the 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women.

9am: Registration

9.30 -11am: Building Connections: with local service providers and researchers
All participants are invited to give a 5-minute talk about their work in this area

11-12.30: Challenges and Opportunities in Combating Violence Against Women
With Trish Doyle, Shadow Minister for Women and the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence

12.30-1.30 Lunch will be provided

1.30-3pm: Investigating the Intersections of Violence Against Women
A roundtable discussion with representatives from Awabakal, ACON, STARTTS, Women with Disabilities Australia, and others (invitations are still being issued)

3.30-4.30: Strategies for Moving Forward
