The Vulnerability to Exploitation of Women Migrant Workers in Agriculture in the EU

The European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs’ study on female agricultural migrant workers in the EU dissects several case studies on the exploitative working conditions in agriculture in Italy and Spain. These EU nations have a high amount of migrant workers in the agricultural sector, which uses a model of production that decreases production costs and increases profitability, leaving workers vulnerable to abuse. The study concludes with good practices and policy recommendations for the Member States.
